Twins Piano Studio

I fell in love with piano because of both the simplicity and simultaneous complexity of the instrument.  That's what I love to teach and help you learn.  It can be as simple as you want; it can be as complex as you want.  It just depends on how far or deep you would like to go.  I am here to lead you and see you try your best.  You can do a lot!

Music is a door to a many different worlds.  The world of music -- you AND your music  -- can give you the experiences of other composers, eras, moods and emotions, etc.  It can make you feel excited, sad, thoughtful, proud, peaceful, patriotic . . . you name it!  Music can make you feel beautiful!

You are at the right place - at my piano studio door!

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that building musicality slowly, with no gaps, is the best foundation. When building a house, missing a brick here and there will not produce a good structure.  Playing by ear and reading music should be equally developed.  Both skills can be developed with proper balancing, but it takes time.  So, bring your patience with you.

I also teach my students to be kind to themselves:  accept where you are and who you are, and I will help you find your next step.

My own goal is for students to enjoy learning!

Bio

I graduated from the Kyrgyz National Conservatory in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, majoring in piano performance and chamber arts.  I had earlier graduated from Bishkek's Gifted Music School before entering Conservatory.

My work experiences included serving as the piano accompanist/concertmaster for several departments of the National Conservatory, and then as head of Music department at the "Balajan" Children's Center of Bishkek where I was surrounded by and working directly with kids of all ages.  I loved it! www.geocities.ws/kyrgyz_balajan

Before coming to Maryland, I had a large private piano studio in the Tri-Cities of Washington State.  I am the proud recipient of letters of gratitude from MTNA ( Music Teacher National Association ) for my work there.
